After the publication of Glow, I’ve been contacted by a Japanese studio: phStudio to know if I would be interested to create new photographs of Tokyo for one of their client: Mitsui Fudosan. They liked the original Tokyo Glow series but they were looking for more recent photographs of the neighbourhood of Shibuya.
I started the project by spending a complete week in the streets of Shibuya at night, shooting all those littles streets full of neon signs, after that we went a bit higher for some aerial points of view.
“We like what you do, so do what you like.”
Shibuya is well known for his famous crossing and it was one of the main focus of this project.
I took those photographs from the Shibuya Excel Hotel Tokyu. The rooms with corner view are amazing.
At the end, they really liked the idea of having an aerial point of view, so they asked to go higher...
A year later I went back to Japan and discovered the billboards of the campaign in Roppongi and Shibuya.
It's an amazing feeling to see my work up there in one of my favourite city in the world.
